Antique English Oak Cabinet with Glass Pane Doors
Antique oak cabinet with original glass pane doors circa late 19th century. This English cabinet features beautiful quarter sawn and rift oak grain adorned with beaded molding, raised panel sides and the original solid oak shelves. Each shelf can be adjusted to a preferred height on the sawtooth shelf brackets. The cabinet also retains the original finish which has developed a rich and warm patina. The cabinet is a two-part form, where the top rests on the bottom form.
Condition:
The cabinet is in wonderful antique condition. Minor nicks and scratches may be noticed on the exterior of the cabinet. Each glass pane is original to the cabinet, all in good condition (minor scratching can be seen on several panes). Molding that runs along the right side of the cabinet is missing in one location (although not particularly noticeable). Several water stains can also be seen on the interior of the cabinet and top shelf (please see photos). It appears there may have once been a shelf on the bottom interior of the cabinet which is now missing. Each pair of doors contain a mortise lock, which is missing the original key.
