Chinese Black Lacquer Cabinet with Mother of Pearl Carvings
Exquisite vintage black lacquer chinese cabinet (two-part form), adorned with delicate overlays of mother of pearl, intricately carved to narrate a tale of two women and scenes of nature. Hand-painted detail spans throughout the cabinets exterior and interoir surface. Cabinet doors open to a spacious interior with more carved mother of pearl overlay. Whether gracing a living room, study, or foyer, this cabinet transcends mere furniture—it's a symphony of artistry and tradition.
Condition:
The cabinet displays very well for its age. Wear and chipping lacquer can be seen on several locations, most notably on the back edges and bottom of the top form. The base also shows some minor wear on the edges. Some separation of the wood joints can be seen on the corners of the top form (due to expansion and contraction of the wood over time) however, this type of separation can be expected from age. The interior of the cabinet also show some wear to the lacquer, most notably on the bottom shelf. The mother of pearl overlay is in excellent condition.
