Vintage Art-Deco Quarter Sawn Oak Wardrobe
Vintage art deco wardrobe originally produced by C.W.S LTD Cabinet Factory London on April 22, 1938 (design 1273) ; which can be seen on a hand-written label on the back of the wardrobe. It features beautiful aged quarter sawn oak which can be seen throughout the wardrobes design, most notably the large front double doors. The interior also features refinished original brass hardware which includes two clothes rods, 5 vintage hook hangers, and a small antique hanging mirror. The original mirror was missing from the wardrobe when we sourced the piece, however, the new mirror is also vintage and has been repurposed from another one of our pieces. There is also a small solid oak shelf in the top right of the wardrobes' interior which is supported by a large brass bracket. The wardrobe also features the original double door handles, C.W.S door locks and solid brass door hinges. The original locks aren't in great working order (one works better than the other) but the doors can be locked with a bit of play. I believe there is a missing piece of metal inside of the locking mechanism preventing the bolt/latch from moving properly. Unfortunately the original key was missing from the piece so the current key is a replacement.
