Stomps and Burkhardt Co. Carved Oak Savonarola Chair
Manufactured circa 1890's by the Stomps and Burkhardt Co. in Dayton, Ohio, this beautiful savonarola chair features striking quarter sawn grain patterns, foliate carvings, x-shaped frame and carved claw feet. Leather floor pads have been added to each foot bottom to resemble the original pads.
The finish is in excellent condition with very minor imperfections. There are some screw holes that are located on the inside of the bottom frame, possibly left over from brackets that were added for reinforcement. They aren't obvious without close inspection. The chair is structurally sound and has been tested up to 190lbs with no sign of failure.
